The RADAR Program:
RADAR is an acronym for Random Alcohol and Drug Abuse Resistance. The RADAR program follows the Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, as set forth in Title 49, Parts 40 & 382. The results are processed as per our Medical Review Officer’s (MRO) directions.
Our clients employ both DOT and non-DOT workers, both union and non-union. We use the DOT guidelines to process the non-DOT employees as well, although the non-DOT clients are not required to follow the strict guidelines set forth by the US Department of Health and Human Services. Using the higher standard of the DOT guidelines helps our clients stay on firm legal ground, should any disputes arise. Our staff coordinates scheduling of all our client’s employees at a convenient Riverfront Medical facility or an appropriate specimen collection site. We have numerous facilities throughout New York State.
Our RADAR staff assists our clients in creating and/or re-writing their drug and alcohol policies. This helps the client’s employees understand the importance of keeping their work environment drug and alcohol free, and underscores the impact that drugs and alcohol have on themselves, the company and their co-workers.
Our RADAR staff maintains the documentation necessary for state and federal audits, and can provide this to our clients as needed. Our staff also assists in obtaining answers to questions regarding DOT guidelines and audits. Our staff also provides our clients with an annual MIS report for their records.
